Hello everyone,

We are JD's Just In Case (Jerome and Dixie).  We started the business after finding out that I, Jerome, had liver cancer and was going to need a transplant.  I was unprepared for anything like that, which scared me to death!  I started thinking about my family and what would happen to them, how we would get through this.  My doctors told me early on that if we prepare, put a plan together, and have things in place to deal with surprises; it will make this emergency much easier to handle.  So, we followed the Doctors orders and started planning and in doing so we realized very quickly how unprepared we were to deal with this situation. That started me down the path of what else am I not prepared for. Living in California the first thing I thought about was earthquakes and what we had around the house and in the cars that we could use if needed, we barely had a flashlight in the spare drawer let alone a plan of action.  It did take a little bit of time, but we got prepared for my transplant and also for any other emergency crisis that may arise. I truly believe that being prepared for the transplant made all the difference in my outcome. We would like to pass along some things we learned and help others get ready for anything from your children( Marlese, Josh, Mickey ) driving away to college with an emergency supply kit in the trunk of their car to a full supply of essentials should a natural disaster occur!
